I think I start every blog entry this way, but:
It is hard to believe Jack and Maddy are 9 months old. We have seen such big changes the past couple of weeks.
They had their 9 month check up this week:
Jack: 21 lbs 5 oz, 29 inches long
Maddy: 19 lbs 15 oz, 29 inches long
They have started eating more table foods and practicing feeding themselves. What a MESS, but so much fun to watch them figure it all out. They are both crawling now. Jack is so fast. He can move across a room in one second flat. He is infatuated with the dog dish. He becomes very frustrated with the baby gates that we have put up. He holds onto them, stands up and rattles them back and forth. Such a pitiful/humorous site! He does the same thing in his crib.
Madelynn is a little bit more timid, but she watches Jack and has decided she wants to keep up with him. He makes her laugh. He climbs over or under her and she thinks it is hilarious. While Maddy is in the Johnny Jump up, Jack crawls over to her and she watches him and just laughs out loud. She isn't as happy when he puts his hole body on her arm or takes her toy from her.
As soon as Jack mastered crawling, one day later he was pulling himself up to stand on things. He is a daredevil. He has no fear...just wants to climb as high as he can get. He is always on the move and never wants to slow down...especially not for naps--who needs those?! (mom and dad do).
Jack has some vowel sounds--just "ma-ma", and Maddy says "da".
They are still loving their swim class. Jack's favorite part is the little plastic balls that the teacher puts in the pool. Maddy loves to kick and splash all over the place!
We have so much fun, but with two mobile babies things have gotten even more chaotic. There is never a moment we're not chasing after one, trying to keep them still to change their diaper or re-directing them away from something. Even though it is crazy, I wouldn't change anything. Somebody said it best to me the other day--we are so lucky to have them.
